Scatter Plots

scatter plot (aka scatter chart, scatter graph) uses dots to represent values for two different numeric variables. The position of each dot on the horizontal and vertical axis indicates values for an individual data point. Scatter plots are used to observe relationships between variables.

scatter plot works best when comparing large numbers of data points without regard to time. This is a very powerful type of chart and good when your are trying to show the relationship between two variables (x and y axis), for example a person’s weight and height.
